Paloma

Paloma weighed 23.3 pounds at the vet's office yesterday when we went to get shot #3. She will get her rabies shot in three weeks. Although she was old enough to get it yesterday, I don't believe in giving too many shots at once especially when shot #3 was already a multiple vaccine. She also didn't get a bordatella booster and will instead get one two weeks before she turns 6 months old.

I have put off enrolling her in a puppy class for this month knowing that Brianna will want to attend with Patriot when she comes back to visit. As of today, we are looking at starting one at the beginning of March. I think the pups have been away from eachother long enough and bonded with each of us so they should be able to concentrate on learning their lessons without too much distraction from one another. Wish us luck! :)

Paloma has lost another couple of teeth, this time on the bottom. I checked the top ones two days after she lost those puppy teeth and she already had her adult teeth coming in. Watch your pups' mouths, it seems you could totally miss the time when they're toothless. It's going much quicker than I remember from before!

You'll be pleased to know that Marley had a clean bill of health from the vet for her postpartum recovery. Her suture knots are still palpable and may be for some time to come. I guess it's not uncommon for them to take a while to heal and disappear. Marley weighed 46.6 pounds which is a little more than she usually weighed in her younger days.

Congratulations to those who have completed their first puppy class. I hope you will continue with your training and even consider enrolling in the next level of classes.

Paloma reminds me everyday that I don't have the house quite as well in order as I think I do. She has also been telling me that things left on the edge of the counter are now within her reach. We are practicing the "drop it" command!

Enjoy the rest of the week and take care -
