3 Weeks Old

We had a very special visit today from Auntie Suzanne. She held us and played with us - it was really fun. However, Hannah had the most fun of all and tried to make Auntie Suzanne do push-ups across the floor. (Suzanne was holding the stuffed spider tightly to the ground and Hannah was pulling her along. It still amazes me how strong she is.)

So, here we are with our friend, The Alligator.

Squeak

Squeak smiling! HA - I just happened to catch him after his yawn.

New Digs

I decided to take the front of the whelping box off now that the pups have their eyes and ears (for the most part) open. They are up walking around more, getting onto their phlanges rather than their metatarsus and looking like little dogs!

I put this bed in the box for the puppies but Marley decided she fit rather well in it. The pups were determined to fit in there no matter what.

"Look, we have our big boy collars on!"

Rancher loves the mighty beast he helped slay.

Sleeping soundly for the night!

Someone Has Come To Play, Really?

The pups are getting to the age where toys should be added to the area so a very tall cheetah has come to play. However, the pups aren't so sure!

"What is this? Will it feed me, too?"

"Do not worry, as the largest pups in the box, we will protect you! Together we have brought down the scary beast. Aha, we worked as a team and defeated this intruder!"

Paloma trying those skills out on Patriot. "Aw, I was just giving him a kiss!"

A Stunning Observation

Bear has teeth! Rancher will be next and then everyone else is pretty much just swollen nubs. Wow - I wasn't expecting this before three weeks. But then, Bear is also 3.75 pounds; Rancher and Squeak have made it over the 3 pound mark and everyone else is somewhere over 2 pounds. Amazing! :)

This is how they choose to sleep most of the time.

For Fun

This picture was taken at 2 weeks 1 day. Just for fun I thought I would put a puppy bed in the whelping box and see what the pups decided to do. Here for a nap or two are Rancher, Lemon Drop, Patriot and Squeak.

Paloma decided it was much better to sleep between the puppy bed and the wall, under the protection of the pig rail!

Early Sunday Morning

I woke up this morning to more eyes open and a bark from Squeak. They are beginning to play with one another, chew on one another and move around more in the whelping box. They are bumping into the sides of the box and trying to climb over the pig rail. Hannah cannot wait until they can play. She is more curious than ever and watches them all the time. This is going to be fun!
