Out and About - The Adventures of Ziggy

And, charming them all.

At the end of May, Ziggy got to go to a Fast Pitch Tournament. His owners thought it would be a good opportunity to get him around new sights and sounds. His first day was filled with new people and dogs, new places to smell, and things to see plus it was H.O.T.! Patience is not one of Ziggy's greater qualities (signs of an intelligent breed) and he had a little trouble the first day. But, by the end of the weekend he had sorted it all out and impressed his family. He had a great time meeting new people and took every opportunity to give tiny licks to the little people. He was such a good sport and handled everything like a pro, even when the stands erupted with cheer!

Here is Ziggy and The Black Diamonds.

At the beginning of June, Ziggy's neighborhood celebrates with a Country Fair. His Dad was in charge of policing for the event and once again Ziggy was presented with an opportunity to learn about new sights and sounds (sirens). Over 500 people attended this event including children, police and firemen. He was a huge hit particularly with the children.

Patriot and Paloma

We just spent another week in Crescent Bar, WA, with Marc. The weather was much warmer than we are used to so we spent a good deal of time in the house with the air conditioner on. I did manage to take a few pictures (ha, really alot ) but these are some of my favorite.

Patriot sleeping - a good time to catch his picture!

Paloma's favorite spot all week - the chaise lounge on the upper patio.

So hot and yet she still did not budge.

Patriot watching the remote controlled helicopter.

Marley, Patriot and Hannah - I had to uncover them to believe they remained asleep in this position. Paloma chose the more comfortable spot, on the pillows next to Dad.

Hope you all are doing well. And, for those of you local - I hope you are staying cool but enjoying the nice weather.

Happy 7 Months!

I just want to wish all of you a Happy Month Day! Are you keeping your parents busy?

Paloma and I started a conformation class which we attend once a week. Our initial class is only four weeks long but we've signed up for another one that will last six weeks - it begins at the end of June. Patriot has been working with his Auntie Suzanne who is getting him ready for his first show. That same show will probably be Paloma's debut as well. Patriot's Mom leaves for Arizona this coming Wednesday and I know he's going to miss her. But, she has lots to do before Dad gets home from Iraq and it's easier to stay with "Gramma!" Loki and Jamie are attending a new obedience class as are Ziggy and Fane. Crawford has been helping his Mom sort through all her boxes as she prepares to go to Medical School - we are so proud of her. They will miss eachother alot but it won't last long as Dad will take him to join Mom sometime in the early Fall. (If any of my East Coast family is reading this - they will need connections! I will write you separately as the time gets closer.) I haven't heard from Jasper in a little while so I hope he is enjoying himself and putting his nose to good use. Perhaps his two legged brother has brought him more pheasants to play with.

Crawford recently experienced a bad bout of hives as a result from what the vet believes was a bee sting. Benadryl alone was not enough so if one of you are ever stung, please make sure your parents consult with your vet.

As always, I look forward to seeing pictures and reading about your newest adventures. Take care of one another!

Happy Mother's Day!

To the Moms of my Golden Rust Four Legged Grandkids ~

Happy Pupppy Mom's Day!

And, for those of you who have two legged children - Happy Mother's Day!

We hope someone is planning a super fun day for you! (Napping in the sunshine, a walk in the park, a little ball tossing, a delicious meal ~ you know, all the things a certain little puppy would like ~ that's what they are wishing for you!)

Enjoy your day ~ Audrey

Ziggy At Six Months

These are the most recent pictures I have of Ziggy. He is enrolled in a Basic Manners class and will begin contact training in a month or so to get ready for agility in the Fall.

I think he is a very handsome boy but then again, I am just a tad bias.

Fun Field Day

A small group of us gathered for TEVCO's annual Fun Field Day on Sauvie Island on Satuday, Aptil 25th. This was the pups' first turn on live chukars and, overall they did really well. Loki brought his parents and participated in the event, too. I was talking to a couple who are looking to get a Vizsla and missed his entire experience. Needless to say, I didn't get any pictures of him finding his bird. :(

The day presented itself as cold and breezy. A few of us brought pop-ups which came in handy especially when it decided to rain. Because of the rain and not wanting to get my camera totally drenched, I ended up not being able to get many pictures of Paloma. I had the wrong lens on the camera but, here she is finding one of the birds.

A chukar - they were tied to a clump of grass so they couldn't fly away.

"I know you have that bird, Dad. Give it to me!"

Patriot looking for his bird.

"OK, I found my bird. What do you mean, Gma has to take me back to camp?"

In camp, Patriot found the bird box

and held a nice point until we called him off.

We brought two chukars home for Hannah and Marley because they had to stay home today. Hannah found her bird right away. Marley's in season and while she found her bird, she wasn't much interested in it. This is Paloma on Marley's bird.

This is Patriot checking out bird #2

This is Paloma checking out the same bird.

Just a picture of Patriot in his freestack.

A Major Milestone!

At 6 months, you have hit the milestone for being able to go into the show ring. If your parents are considering allowing you to grace the ring, have them let me know.

Paloma and Patriot spent their day coming home from being out of town. Patriot traveled with his Mom to Wisconsin where they dropped off Edgar, a 2 year old friend, for field training. They went along to help with the trip and were gone from Easter morning until last evening. Paloma was in Crescent Bar, WA, visiting her Dad for about the same length of time. He was so happy to have her there, along with her human Mom, her real Mom and Auntie Hannah. Secretly she didn't want to come home or was that Mom? Anyway, we all ended up being on I-84 at the same time. Paloma arrived home first, followed by Patriot about a half hour later. Considering Patriot started out in Butte, MT, that morning, being on the same road at the same time was pretty amazing.

I wish you all a Happy Six Months and hope to get new pictures of everyone real soon! If your folks can manage a stacking picture, that would be great. I know it's tough but I have every confidence that you can do it! :)
